At present, we have an excellent opportunity for a Director of Tax in our Corporate Headquarters located in Melville, NY.

In this key management position, the Director will assist the Vice President, Taxation in the day-to-day management of the Corporate Tax Department and play a significant role in US and International Tax areas such as research and planning, restructuring, acquisition analysis, tax audits and controversy and accounting for income taxes. This role will concentrate on achieving the strategic objective of minimizing Arrow’s worldwide tax burden.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Performing research and planning on a pro-active, reactive, and as-directed basis
- Providing timely responses to questions and issues generated by or impacting operating personnel
- Establishing objectives and assignments for up to three or four direct reports who are degreed tax professionals/CPA’s with five to ten years of experience
- Effectively manage and coach staff through the completion of their assignments
- Act as primary interface with Federal and Canadian tax auditors
- Negotiating effectively with tax auditors where necessary
- Cultivating relationships across functional areas to encourage two-way dialogue on potential tax consequences of contemplated transactions
- Captain implementation of selected domestic and international tax reduction initiatives
- Acting as secondary interface with professional advisors

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent
- Minimum of 15 years combined corporate tax experience in “Big 4” public accounting and Fortune 1000 environments. Should have a heavy concentration in tax issues related to distribution and/or related industries.
- CPA and Masters in Taxation
- Deep knowledge of international taxes

Preferred Qualifications:
- General rather than specialized experience
