The Editors of the National Tax Journal (NTJ) are excited to continue our webinar series that periodically features some of the NTJ’s recently published articles.
Our next webinar will comprise four papers from the Forum of the June 2025 issue. Poliymakers around the world are tasked with creating efficient and fair tax systems to raise revenues that finance their governments. The assignment is far from simple, and developing countries face several unique challenges. In particular, these countries tend to face higher levels of tax evasion and avoidance, coupled with limited tax enforcement capabilities, making them valuable policy grounds for studying the effects of policies aimed at improving tax compliance.
Please join us as Lucie Gadenne (University of London) moderates a discussion with Maria Inés Badin (University of California-Davis), Claudio Agostini (Universidad Adolfo Ibanes), Joana Naritomi (The London School of Economics) and Dina Pomeranz (University of Zurich) on new insights on important tax compliance issues in developing countries.
Date: Tuesday, July 15, 2025
Time: 1:00 – 2:00 pm ET
Badin’s work is coauthored with Diana Moreira (UC-Davis), Juan Fransisco Santini (World Bank), and Monica Singhal (UC-Davis). Naritomi’s work is coauthored with Tsogsag Nyamdavaa (Hitotsubashi University) and Stephanie Campbell (University of Melbourne). Pomeranz’s work is coauthored with Juan Carlos Suárez-Serrato (Stanford Graduate School of Business).
