Progress & Poverty Institute Grant

The Progress and Poverty Institute was established in 1925 as the Robert Schalkenbach Foundation to promote the ideas of 19th century social reformer, Henry George. In his seminal work Progress and Poverty, George promoted the idea of a Land Value Tax.

PPI invites proposals for research or applied projects that can expand the successful adoption of Land Value Tax (LVT). We welcome proposals from academic researchers, public policy institutes, nonprofit organizations, advocacy groups and cross-sector collaborations. Projects may be theoretical, empirical, legal, computational, or strategic in nature. Grants of up to $10,000 will be considered.

You can find more information on eligibility criteria and the grant application here.

The application deadline is April 6, 2026.
