This year’s conference examined the pervasive role of uncertainty in the economy and how it affects public policy. We explored this topic in a plenary session, as well as in sessions that covered unfunded liabilities, international tax reform, modeling practices, alternative revenue sources, state and local taxes, and digital taxation. Our luncheon speakers were Lael Brainard, member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, and Dana Trier, who served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Tax Policy in the U.S. Treasury Department during the drafting of the 2017 tax reform legislation and initial guidance on the new law.
The Symposium was presented in association with the American Tax Policy Institute.
