55th Annual Spring Symposium

 May 8-9, 2025
Georgetown University, McCourt School of Public Policy, Capitol Hill Campus, Washington, D.C.

The theme of this year’s Symposium is “Taxes in a New World.”  Organized by Janet Holtzblatt of the Tax Policy Center, Kyle Pomerleau from the American Enterprise Institute, and Eric Soloman of American Tax Policy Institute and Ivins, Phillips & Barker, the program looks to be exceptional. The symposium will feature keynote talks from U.S. Treasury Assistant Secretary for Tax Policy–Nominee (Invited) Kenneth Kies and Former IRS Commissioner Danny Werfel.

Paper sessions and panels will address: issues in the extension of TCJA, international taxation, tariffs and trade, anti-poverty programs, fiscal sustainability, the future of the IRS, energy and environmental taxation, mobility effects of state and local taxes, and federal-state fiscal relations.

We look forward to seeing you in person and hearing your thoughts on these important issues.

Note: The Symposium will take place at the McCourt School of Public Policy’s  facility on Capitol Hill.  The physical address is 125 E St. NW, Washington, DC.
