The NTA Fiscal Sustainability Travel Fellowship provides support to graduate students and early-career professionals whose research or expertise centers on the United States’ long-term fiscal sustainability. This fellowship is tied to the 119th Annual Conference on Taxation to be held November 12 – 14, 2026, at The Westin Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, PA. All fellowship recipients will be required to attend in person.
Eligibility
- Advanced Ph.D. students (3rd year+), 2nd or 3rd year J.D. students, or early career professionals (within 5 years of their graduate degree).
- Individuals with a demonstrated interest in fiscal sustainability, government debt, or federal tax/budget policy.
- Must be able to attend the NTA Annual Conference on November 12-14, 2026 at The Westin Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, PA.

- Application Deadline: Wednesday, August 19, 2026. Applicants are encouraged to apply before the deadline; applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis.
- Recipients Notified: September 9, 2026.
- 2026 NTA Annual Meeting, November 12 – 14, 2026
All Fiscal Sustainability Fellowship Recipients Receive:
- Two nights of lodging at the conference hotel
- Up to $599 in travel reimbursement
- A waived conference registration fee
- A complimentary one-year NTA membership
