The NTA Fiscal Sustainability Travel Fellowship provides support to graduate students and early-career professionals whose research or expertise centers on the United States’ long-term fiscal sustainability.
This fellowship is tied to the 119th Annual Conference on Taxation to be held November 12 – 14, 2026, at The Westin Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, PA. All fellowship recipients will be required to attend in person.
Eligibility:
Advanced Ph.D. students (3rd+ year), 2nd or 3rd year J.D. students, or early career professionals (within five years of their graduate degree) focused on fiscal sustainability, government debt, or federal tax/budget policy. Applicants must plan to attend the conference in person.
Award:
- Two nights’ lodging at the conference hotel
- Up to $599 in travel reimbursement
- A waived conference registration fee
- A full year of NTA membership
Important Dates:
- Wednesday, August 19, 2026: Application deadline. Applicants are encouraged to apply before the deadline; applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis.
- September 9, 2026: Recipients are notified.
- November 12 – 14, 2026: The 119th Annual Conference on Taxation (Pittsburgh, PA.)
