The NTA, with support from the Peter G. Peterson Foundation, is proud to introduce the Fiscal Sustainability Travel Fellowship, a new opportunity supporting emerging scholars focused on the long-term fiscal challenges facing the United States.
This fellowship provides travel funding, complimentary conference registration and one-year NTA membership for up to four graduate students and early-career professionals (MAs, PhDs, or JDs) whose academic or professional work explores fiscal sustainability, federal debt, taxation, or budget policy. Fellowship recipients will attend the 118th NTA Annual Conference, held November 6-8, 2025, in Boston Massachusetts.
Fellowship Benefits:
Each selected fellow will receive:
- 2025 NTA Annual Meeting Complimentary Registration
- Complimentary 1-year NTA Membership
- A scholarship of $2,000 to offset costs of transportation to and from Boston (air and ground), three nights’ accommodation, and meals during the conference
Who Should Apply?
- Advanced Ph.D. students (3rd year or beyond)
- 2nd or 3rd year J.D. students
- Early career professionals within five years of completing a graduate degree.
Applicants must demonstrate a clear interest in public finance topics such as fiscal sustainability, government debt and federal tax and budget policy, and be able to attend the conference in person.
