New National Tax Journal Editors

The National Tax Association is happy to announce the appointment of that Elena Patel, Nathan Seegert and Matthew Weinzierl to the position of co-editors of the National Tax Journal. They will join Andrew Samwick as a returning co-editor and Laura Kawano as the forum editor.

Patel, Seegert and Weinzierl were selected after an open call for editors was put forth by the Board of Directors of the National Tax Association. Laura Kawano, NTA Treasurer and NTJ Forum Editor, led the selection committee. “On behalf of the selection committee and the NTA, we are excited for the enthusiasm and leadership that these new co-editors will bring to the journal to expand its impact on the public finance community. We thank Caroline Weber for her excellent service to the journal these past three years.”

Published since 1948, the National Tax Journal disseminates high quality original research on governmental tax and expenditure policies. Articles include economic, theoretical, and empirical analyses of tax and expenditure issues with an emphasis on policy implications. All issues include an NTJ Forum, which consists of invited papers by leading scholars that examine in depth a single current policy issue. In recent years, the NTJ has received nearly 190 annual submissions and publishes about 35 papers. The University of Chicago Press has published the National Tax Journal since 2021.
